In 2019, a colleague of mine reached out to share about an organization he had become involved with in Nasana, Uganda, through a missionary friend. The organization, Generosity Children’s Foundation, was founded by a man named Kibuuka Moses, who himself was orphaned as a child. As an adult, Moses couldn't ignore the needs of the children around him and felt compelled to take action. He started by caring for just one child, providing food and shelter. Today, there are over 50 children sheltered in a group home he runs with his wife and a few other staff members. In 2019, there were no more than 20 children being cared for. Since then, I've had the privilege of running fundraisers, creating graphic collateral, and joining the board of this flourishing non-profit. Below are some examples of my contributions.

In early 2024, I dedicated my time and focus to the task of redesigning the logo for Generosity Children’s Foundation (GCF). The logo on the left has been GCF's emblem for several years. The advisory board, comprising myself and a few others, will deliberate on the two options on the right. My intention behind the logo redesign was to encapsulate GCF's core values: providing shelter and care for children, while also extending service and commitment to the broader community surrounding the facility.

Generosity Children’s Foundation relies entirely on donations, primarily from sponsors located in North America. In addition to personal and scholastic sponsorships for the children, we host fundraisers a few times a year to address immediate needs and to celebrate the collective birthdays of the children every October 5th.

In 2023, we launched a special campaign for our birthday fundraiser, allowing donors to "gift" a nominal amount to sponsor a child's attendance at the celebration. This initiative involved creating a Facebook event, hosting a fundraiser via DonorHeart, and utilizing visual aids to track the number of sponsored children and those still in need of sponsorship. While most of our sponsors were familiar with GCF, we also reached a handful of new supporters through organic outreach on social media.

In total, our efforts resulted in raising over $3,000 for the event, ensuring that every child could participate in the joy of their special day.
